Over on the official Cuphead Twitter account, the developers have given fans a look at the game’s earliest days of development. The short clip down below show’s a prototype, which would eventually become Cuphead. Interestingly enough, the game doesn’t have any similarities to the final product at all in terms of its look but we can see that the giant bosses players came to know were likely planned to be included pretty early on.

Game development is always a fairly secretive process so it’s very cool when those on the outside can get a quick glimpse at the early days of some of our favorite titles. In another case, Sony Santa Monica revealed some early footage of God of War’s first boss battle. While this sequence was no doubt captured later on into development, it’s very interesting to see how things like video games come together whether they’re indie or triple-A.

Cuphead is available right now as a console-exclusive on Xbox One and is also available on PC. Earlier this year, we got our first look at Cuphead’s upcoming DLC content at E3 2018. The game was immensely popular for an indie title, selling over three million copies. You can check out our review of the game if you haven’t already.
