With its release last fall, Borderlands 3 gave fans of the long-running loot n’ shoot franchise their long-awaited return to Pandora among other various new planets. The game itself already was a hefty experience with lots to shoot and Claptrap puns, but given that it’s a Borderlands game, there has also been tons of new DLC to expand the game further. With two expansions having been released since the game’s debut, developer Gearbox Software has pulled back the curtain on the next major campaign DLC coming to the game in June.

During the latest episode of The Borderlands Show, Gearbox Software officially revealed the third campaign DLC for Borderlands 3, which is called Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption. As the name implies, the new campaign DLC boasts a Western theme and an all new cast of characters. The new campaign DLC will launch June 25 as part of the game’s Season Pass, or can be purchased individually.

According to Gearbox, Bounty of Blood will have players traversing the dangerous new planet Gehenna to earn a bounty on The Devil Riders, which are a deadly gang that has been wreaking havoc on the town of Vestige. Throughout the new storyline, players will be introduced to new characters like the Western warrior Rose, and a troubled brawler named Juno. In addition to the new characters and setting, Bounty of Blood will also introduce a new vehicle called the JetBeast, new environmental interactive objects, and plenty of Borderlands‘ requisite loot and new weapons.

In addition to the new expansion, Gearbox also detailed a new Takedown event for Borderlands 3 that will be a free update for all players on June 4. Specifically, the new event is called Takedown at the Guardian Breach, which is a new piece of endgame content that is “designed to put your skills and gear to the ultimate test.” The new event will have players on a recon mission to Minos Prime “to locate the source of a mysterious Guardian signal.” While there, players will be tasked with taking out a squad of Guardians “who have irrevocably transformed Minos Prime,” according to Gearbox.

Alongside these announcements, Gearbox also released some new screenshots and images from both Bounty of Blood and the new Takedown event. The developer also shared a piece of concept art for the upcoming fourth and final campaign DLC for Borderlands 3, which should give an interesting tease for what’s in store for the game next. Borderlands 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
