Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is finally out in less than a month (!!!) and to make the excitement for launch just a bit more heightened, 505 Games recently revealed an entirely new playable character that will be in the game.

The new playable character alongside Miriam is that of Zangetsu, who you may recognize from Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. Zangetsu is a samurai who will be returning in Ritual of the Night to once again slay foes with his katana. While Zangetsu won’t be in the game right at launch, 505 Games says that he will be added for free down the road.

One of the coolest parts about Zangetsu comes with the voice of the character, who you may recognize from another incredibly prominent video game franchise. Zangetsu will be voiced by David Hayter himself, who, if you aren’t aware, voiced Solid Snake and Big Boss in the Metal Gear Solid series all the way up until Metal Gear Solid V.

If you want to hear Hayter voicing the character right now, you can also check out the new trailer for Bloodstained attached below. His voice sounds as gruff and as cool as it always has.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set to finally launch next month on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 18. The following week on June 25, it will then be dropping on the Nintendo Switch. To hold you over until launch, be sure to check out some of my own hands-on impressions of the game from earlier in the year.
