Bloodborne Datamining Leads to Discovery of Cut Bosses and Characters

Bloodborne, From Software, News, Originals, PS4, Trailers

Datamining is fairly common in PC games, and that includes From Software’s Dark Souls games, leading to the reveal of a lot of elements that were developed but then never used. On the other hand, Bloodborne is a PlayStation 4 game, making accessing and actually seeing the content of its files much more challenging.

Recently, XeNTaX forum user Daemon1 managed to break the wall and posted a set of tools that allow users to display some of the content of the game’s files, which inevitably led to the reveal of quite a few elements that were cut from the game.

YouTube user Sanadsk used them to make a video that provides a taste on some of the most interesting elements that were cut, including probable bosses, enemies, and even a character.

You can check it out below. Of course, you should keep in mind that cutting content is an absolutely normal element of game development, so the presence of the models showcased in the video is no indication that the game was rushed or anything of the sort. Most probably, as is usual, they simply did not fit the final vision of the game.

In more recent Bloodborne news, Chalice dungeon Dwellers managed to document the existence of an undead giant type that was considered cut content, but that is actually in the game.

If you’re not familiar with From Software’s title, you can read our review. The game is currently available exclusively for PS4.
