Happy April Fools! If you love a bit of a joke and general silliness, you’re in good company. Taking you with them on this day is Apex Legends as they celebrate with some goofy in-game content.

Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games on the market. The last official figure from Respawn stated that over 50 million players jumped into the title but have seen a 30% growth in new-comers this year.

The word on fan’s lips is how will Apex Legends celebrate April fools day this year? Thankfully, we have the answer in a newly announced update.

What’s new in Apex Legends for April Fool’s Day?

Last year, Respawn joined in on the April Fool’s day shenanigans with a gold version of the Mozambique with special attachments. Since then, the gun’s received buffs and has been much more usable in the current meta.

For April Fool’s Day, Apex is back again with the gold Mozambique. Not only that, players can get their hands on the gold version of the P2020 pistol and if you’re flying across the zipline, the pistol throws out 190 damage to those unfortunate enough to get in its way.

Apex Legends leaker Shrugtal said in a tweet that the title could see some gold weapons like Respawn included last year and also added in that Airhorns and loot balls could be dropping from the sky.

Release Date

Players will notice these April Fool’s Day changes as of today when they fire up Apex Legends. But be quick, as it’s only today that you can take part.

Other Apex Legends Updates

Apex Legends has been seeing quite a lot of patches lately which focus on certain annoying bugs and general improvements.

Throughout the recent Chaos Theory Event, the game encountered some of these niggling bugs and thankfully, Respawn Entertainment was quick to take action.

The latest patch note, amid a small one, helped conquer crashes, including one tied to explosive holds, Switch problems and some “OUT OF STRING MEM” errors.

Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. For all Apex Legends coverage, make sure to stick right here on DualShockers.
