In just two days, Compulsion Games and Gearbox Publishing will releasing We Happy Few on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. That being said, the developers revealed today on PlayStation Blog that PlayStation VR owners will be able to try out an exclusive side story called Uncle Jack Live VR for free starting today.
At the beginning of development, Uncle Jack Live VR was only supposed to let players manipulate camera, but this final expereince will let players actually assist the titular character in his studio, and has a story with multiple outcomes. The main gameplay loop has players deciding what they want Uncle Jack to say on air for the Signal Space Lab.
Players can just follow the script and feed the people of Wellington Wells lies, or they can slip in some “wrong” news, which Uncle Jack will try to work around. There is also a downer outbreak going on during the broadcast, so players will have to find a way to dose them all with Joy. Outside of the main story, Uncle Jack Live VR will include an Archive Mode where players can watch the game’s trailers, listen to the soundtrack, and watch 40 Uncle Jack episodes for some more world building.
You can check out some screenshots of Uncle Jack Live VR below. This VR side story is available now on PlayStation VR, while We Happy Few will launch on August 10 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
