Today Silicon Studio announced via press release that the Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner remaster Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS will use the the optical post-effects middleware Yebis.
According to the announcement, Yebis will provide “a wide range post-effects and upgrades to HDR and VR support that are sure to wow fans of the series.”
Yebis is a well known and widely used optical effects middleware by Tokyo-based Silicon Studio (known among gamers for developing the Bravely series for Square Enix) designed to accurately simulate camera lens effects like bokeh, depth of field and glare. It was used in games like Dark Souls III and Bloodborne.
The game’s Producer Noriaki Okamura accompanied the press release with a statement:
“I cannot forget the excitement of the day we implemented “YEBIS”, when we saw many characteristic post effects of “ANUBIS” now shine with the brightness of the current generation standards, compared to how they first looked 15 years ago.”
