In 2017, Lizardcube and Dotemu brought Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, an awesome remake of Wonder Boy III, to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Today, over two years after the title’s initial launch, the pair have confirmed that it has nearly sold 500,000 copies and revealed that they are bringing Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap to mobile devices on May 30.

The mobile version of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be coming to iOS, Android, and Nvidia Shield and will cost $8.99. Dotemu confirmed that the mobiles ports would contain the “full premium experience” of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. This means the beautifully recreated art is still just as nice looking and fluid as it was in 2017.

Where the port differs slightly is in gameplay, as controls have been reworked to feel good on a touchscreen. The iOS, Android, and Nvidia Shield version of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap were developed by Playdigious, who also handled the mobile ports of Teslagrad and Evoland II. If you are curious about what Dotemu and Lizardcube are doing next, they are currently working on the highly anticipated Streets of Rage 4.

You can check out the trailer announcing the mobile port, which includes a quote from DualShockers’ own review, below. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and will be coming to iOS, Android, and Nvidia Shield as well on May 30.
