A brand new trailer for ININ Games’ and Studio Artdink’s upcoming Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World has been revealed today. Alongside that, a release period has been revealed as well as prices and a physical release.

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a full remake of Monster World IV. A side-scrolling adventure game that remains true to the original from 1994. The trailer showcases the game’s cell-shaded 3D graphics that is paired up with 2D gameplay with the world being presented from different perspectives during cutscenes. Voiced by Ai Fairouz, the protagonist, Asha sets out to free 4 spirits being confined by evil forces.  She’s joined by Pepelogoo.

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World has been created with original members from Westone Bit in tow, this includes the original creator, Ryuichi Nishizawa. Shinichi Sakamoto is on the team for composing new and improved music and sound effects, Maki Ōzora for the updated character design, and Takanori Kurihara as the game’s creative manager.

ININ Games launching this means that the studio has been ramping its portfolio some more. Previously it’s seen Bubble Bobble 4 Friends launching on the Nintendo Switch, and Umihara Kawase BaZooKa! on Switch, PC, and PS4.

The game’s slated to launch sometime in Q2 2021 and will be available on PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Last year it was also said to be heading to PC. While the game will be available to purchase digitally, a physical edition will also be available.

With the physical edition, consumers will get an exclusive copy of the original Monster World IV bundled in with the 2021 version.

There are also 3 exclusive editions that will be available at Strictly Limited Games. The Limited Edition is a physical copy of the game along with a copy of the original game. The Collectors Edition will have the game, the original game, and a world map, the OST for both versions of the game, an artbook, and a squishy ball styled after Pepelogoo and “more”. As for the Mega Collector’s Edition, all of the above is included, but with figurines, a pin, a vinyl sticker, and “more.”
