Dotemu has released a gameplay reveal trailer for Windjammers 2 and it spares no time before getting into the action of windjammering.
This trailer features returning players Klaus Wessel (Germany) and Hiromi Mita (Japan) duking it out on the courts along with new characters Max and Grace. New moves include jumps, smashes, and slapshots. This footage is from the game’s alpha and so is not representative of the final game. Windjammers 2 will release on Nintendo Switch and PC on an undetermined date.
Windjammers 2 is the sequel to the 1994 original (known as Flying Power Disk in Japan) developed by Data East for the SNK Neo Geo and arcade cabinets. It was later brought onto the Wii Virual Console (RIP) and re-released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2017, and Nintendo Switch in October 2018. Its sequel was announced in August 2018 alongside Streets of Rage 4, both of which we got a chance to see during PAX West and you can read some initial thoughts here in our preview.
