Compulsion Games, who have recently been acquired by Microsoft, will be releasing We Happy Few on PC, PS4, and Xbox One next month. Just a month before release, some new screenshots and an overview trailer delivered in a somewhat disturbing way have been released.

The new video is titled Always Be Cheerful: The ABCs of Happiness, and features the evil Dr. Shelly and Dr. Byron performing tests on a “downer”, someone who has stopped using Joy. They are trying to get the test subject to forget everything he’s learned as a downer and embrace the fake-happiness of Wellington Wells, resulting in an overview of several of the game’s mechanics.

New screenshots have been released for We Happy Few’s three playable characters as well. These characters Arthur, an unremarkable everyman Archivist who has just been weaned off Joy, Sally, a socialite scientist who concocts a variety of chemicals to use in tough situations, and Ollie, a crazy veteran who has been a downer for years.

You can check out Always Be Cheerful: The ABCs of Happiness and the new screenshots below. We Happy Few is currently poised to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 10, even in Australia. If you want to see DualShockers’ thoughts on the game, you can check out our preview from E3 2018.
