Everyone knows how iconic any scene is where Link pulls out the Master Sword from the stone it’s set in. It’s almost like watching King Arthur pull the Excalibur, only with a silent hero who can at least grunt with every swing. But what if Link isn’t enough for you? What if you want someone who has always been pushed to the back, but still remains an absolute legend? What if you want Luigi inside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild?
Yup, Mario’s brother, Luigi finally comes forth and gets his hands on the Master Sword with a mod created by “banan039”. The video from BeardBear below shows the mod for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but with Link’s character model replaced with the green-capped Luigi instead.
You can watch Luigi’s big hands wrap around the handle of the sword and attempt to pull it out while the Great Deku Tree watches. Eventually, Luigi pulls it out. At one point he slices the blade through his fingertips and even slices his face. But Luigi being Luigi, it doesn’t phase him.
If that doesn’t satisfy you, then perhaps the below video will. Instead of Luigi, the mod replaces the character model with House House’s Untitled Goose Game’ s protagonist. The winged Goose which has been modded by “critopadolf”. Due to the character model seemingly not being entirely rigged for animations, we get to witness the goose using some type of celestial energy to pull the sword out. Check it out.
It’ll be interesting to see what other characters BeardBear finds from the modding community. But for now, enjoy these two videos on this [insert weather in your location] Thursday. Players seem to keep coming up interesting ways to enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, such as this video of a player killing a Guardian with a trickshot. Last year, in August, the game was the best-selling Zelda game ever in the US.
