Back in January this year, developers Chucklefish added a new DLC campaign to their super-successful strategy hit Wargroove. The new update, titled Wargroove: Double Trouble, added three new commanders, a handful of new units and a co-op campaign for players to battle through. One thing was missing though – PS4 support. The update launched on Nintendo Switch, PC and Xbox One, but Sony were left out.

That wasn’t the only thing missing from the Playstation version of the game either. Going back to February 2019, Crossplay support was added to the game for Switch, PC and Xbox but once again, PS4 missed out. All of this also happened after the PS4 version launched around six months after the other versions in July last year.

Whatever issues there may have been seem to have now been resolved however. A tweet from the official Wargroove Twitter account confirmed that the free update was finally coming to PS4 in all of its glory. It was confirmed that players on PS4 would be getting full crossplay, all three new commanders and new units, the co-op campaign and new editing tools. The good news doesn’t stop there either, as the update is confirmed to be dropping today!

Wargroove has drawn major comparisons to handheld favourite Advance Wars, which we said needs to make a comeback this holiday, as the indie game draws from the best parts of Nintendo’s strategy series and makes them its own. Our reviewer really enjoyed their time with Wargroove, scoring it an 8/10 and saying “Chucklefish has made an approachable turn-based strategy game that carefully teaches you its rules without being cruel.”

Wargroove is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One and with this update you’ll now finally be able to play against each other regardless of platform.
