UPDATE: Remedy has now verified that Control’s release date is indeed that of August 27 meaning that this leak was true. Be sure to mark it down on your own calendar if you’re looking forward to getting your hands on the follow-up to Quantum Break.

The original story is below.

When we last heard directly from Remedy, the developer stated that its upcoming release of Control would be due out this summer. Now, through a recent leak, it seems like we may have a more specific date to expect the title at.

In a newly updated listing of Control on the Microsoft Store website, the game now is said to be releasing on August 27, 2019. This date doesn’t only fall in line with Remedy’s statement that the game would be out in summer, but August 27 is also a Tuesday, which is a typical day of the week in which games release.

This date seems pretty likely, but Remedy and 505 Games still haven’t announced anything formal so don’t take it as completely accurate just yet. Still, the way in which this date has leaked adds a lot of credibility to its accuracy since it was listed on a formal storefront like this. If Control is set to release in August though, you’d have to imagine that we’ll hear something official one way or another quite soon.

Below you can see an image of the official listing on Microsoft’s website in case the release date gets removed from the page soon. Control is set to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC whenever it does end up launching.
