Shaun Escayg served as the creative director and writer on Naughty Dog’s most recent release, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Today via Twitter, Escayg announced that his tenure at the kennel is up, and he’s moving onto something new.

Escayg joined Naughty Dog seven years ago where his first work at the company was on that of The Last of Us. He went on to help contribute to Left Behind, the standalone DLC for The Last of Us, as well as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End before later culminating in a lead development role for 2017’s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

It’s not unusual to see turn over at a studio after the release of a recent project, but it is a bit more rare to see project lead of Escayg’s stature move on. In addition to Bruce Straley leaving Naughty Dog in September of last year, the studio has now seen two of its more notable employees leave the company in a span of less than six months.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Escayg last year ahead of the release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy where he talked to us about the game’s development and its main characters Chloe and Nadine. As of now Escayg hasn’t said where he will be going in the future, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted once he makes an announcement.
