These Marvel’s Spider-Man and Uncharted 4 PlayStation Jewel Cases are Great

Creating throwback PlayStation-era jewel cases for modern games have been all the rage lately. Within the past few weeks alone, we’ve seen some rad new creations centered around games like Death Stranding and Kingdom Hearts 3 both in the packaging that many might remember from the original PlayStation all those years ago.

Now, one Redditor by the name of u/AlexanderGr8 has created a new set of throwback cases emulating more PS4 classics. This time around, the 2018 release of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End have received the PS1 treatment and they look pretty awesome. Much like with other cases we’ve seen like this, the creator opted to not just use the standard cover art seen in the PS4 releases of both games and instead opted to utilize other images. I think the two they ended up going with look great in this format, too.

I have to be honest, these retro game cases always make me miss collecting physical copies of games. While I personally have converted more to digital purchases in recent years, mainly for convenience sake, there was always something special about getting physical games. Especially back in the day when instruction booklets were actually fun to peruse through, getting a new game always seemed like a major event. Maybe this is just my nostalgia talking, but I miss being young and getting a new N64 or PS1 game and digging through the box on the drive back home.

Anyway, what do you think of these game cases? Are they the best of the ones we’ve seen in the past few weeks? And which modern games would you like to see receive this treatment next? Let me know down in the comments.
