The ongoing pandemic has created widespread cancelations for the video game industry. Whether that be from events or delays for game releases, the industry has felt the impact in many ways. One of those being the cancellation of e3. It has been presumed that many of the press conferences that are held before the show would continue in some digitally hosted event. That presumption turned out to be true for the PC Gaming Show and it will take place on Saturday, June 6. Viewers will be able to tune in on Twitch and other platforms.

Hosted by PC Gamer, the PC Gaming Show will bring announcements from Intel, Epic Games Store, Tripwire Interactive, Frontier, Merge, Humble Bundle, Guerrilla Collective, and Perfect World. PC Gamer stated that we can expect to see a show similar to last year’s format. Presumably, that means new trailers, announcements, along with maybe some discussions with some developers.

I wouldn’t classify myself as a PC guy, but I always enjoy tuning into this show. There are some widely fascinating games that get revealed here that I would have probably never seen if I never watched. Even if you are more into consoles, I would still recommend tuning in if you are just a fan of the industry.

Many other publishers (except Bethesda) have stated that they will be holding some type of online event to replace their typical e3 press conference, but this is the first one that I am aware of to set a date. I would have to assume that we will see some date announcements from Ubisoft and others sometime soon. The same goes for Microsoft since they have a new console coming in the fall. I am still unsure about Sony since they have slowly drip-fed us random blog posts or exclusives with some publications and shown no sign of holding a big show. I would assume that will change though at some point.
