We know that Ready At Dawn is hard at work on a AAA game. While we don’t know for sure what that game is, a new rumor points to it being a sequel to The Order: 1886. Even crazier — it may be coming to both of the major next gen consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The supposed leak comes from NeoGAF, via a forum member who has somewhat of a credible reputation. For example, the NeoGAF leaks managed to correctly pinpoint early details about the PS4 Pro months before it had its official reveal in September 2016. Even still we have no way of confirming that the NeoGAF user’s post so make sure to take the rumor with a massive grain of

For a bit of backstory, The Order: 1886 is a PS4 exclusive from Ready at Dawn, the team that was previously most known for their excellent PSP God of War titles such as God of War: Chains of Olympus. The Order: 1886 is an alternative history game set in London. Players control Galahad, a skilled member of the Knights of The Order, in their quest to hunt down werewolves that combat the steampunk society. The game blended real-life historical figures and events with fictional takes on popular myths and legends.

While the game was met with a divisive reception (due to notably short run time for a $60 game), it was clear that there was potential in The Order: 1886 that a sequel could possibly improve and build upon. The game has since gained a cult following that has been asking for a revitalization of the series.

In a cryptic post at NeoGAF, forum poster BlackOsiris spoke of a trailer that seemed to point to The Order: 1886. In the alleged gameplay trailer, a man with a shoulder-mounted light device surveys a dimly lit room and fires on and retreats from a yellow-eyed, many armed creature. The monster taunts the man from behind a door with the words, “I have found you” before the game’s title appears on the screen before the trailer ends. He goes on to say the man is highly recognizable and impossible to confuse with anyone else and that revealing what the man was wearing would be a dead giveaway.

BlackOsiris was also ambiguous as to which platform this leaked trailer was shown on, leading many to believe that The Order sequel will be available on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Anything announced in 2020 (or later) would likely be considered coming to next gen, though this doesn’t mean counting out current gen consoles as well. However, that news is highly speculative at best — especially because it is reported that Ready at Dawn doesn’t own The Order 1886 IP. However, that doesn’t count out the possibility of a spiritual successor — similar to FromSoftware moving from PS3-exclusive Demon’s Souls to a multiplatform Dark Souls.

Additionally, the leaker praised the game’s character models and lighting physics stating it was “on another level.” He also mentioned that it was impossible to tell the difference between gameplay and cutscenes. Rumors aside, here’s hoping Ready at Dawn continues looking into that game’s universe a bit more for future games. As mentioned above, The Order: 1886 is available now exclusively on PS4.
