The Last of Us Part II has, unsurprisingly, been a very hot topic lately. Not satisfied with reasonable criticisms regarding the sequel, some people took things a step further when the crew behind the game started to receive violent threats leaving Naughty Dog with no other option than to come forward with a statement to condemn the toxic behavior towards the team and cast. Laura Bailey who voices Abby had also come forward to share her story of how deplorable some people are by issuing her death threats. Regardless of your feelings towards The Last of Us Part II, this crazy mashup of Abby and Ellie in separate combat scenes is so good that even the haters may enjoy it.

Rolling in from Reddit comes user Much who has done a stellar job at editing Ellie and Abby’s combat sequences throughout the game into one smooth video. From the beginning to the end of the short clip, Ellie and Abby’s violent fight scenes roll into each other as if they were the same person. It’s truly amazing how fluid Much has made this video that it’s almost impossible to see the actual cut off points. Some of the clip’s highlights include Abby on the ground as she is just about to shoot someone and then it smoothly glides onto Ellie as she is completing the exact same move. Maybe this duo is more compatible with each other than just their initial lust for revenge.

As someone who has completed the game and is on their second playthrough, I thoroughly enjoyed the combat scenes but this video makes me want to go back and try out some other moves as I’m not sure I’ve been utilizing them to the fullest! Over on Twitter, Much also enjoys crafting some amazing gifs from The Last of Us Part 2 gameplay scenarios. You can give them a peek by heading over to their Twitter page right here.

In previous episodes, the podcasts focused on the summer sections of the first game, episode three dived into fall, and the Left Behind DLC and episode four was centered around Winter and Spring but the latest one will be all about Part II.

The Last of Us Part II has already and probably unsurprisingly reached over 4 million in sales and has become the PS4’s fastest-selling exclusive ever. Sony revealed the news on the PlayStation Blog today that as of June 21 the highly anticipated sequel has done extremely well in such a short space of time, overtaking PS4’s previous record holders, God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man. This news comes after we heard that in Japan, The Last of Us Part II became its top-selling first-party PS4 game selling 178,696 copies in total. If you ever wondered how The Last of Us Part II’s developers created those chilling sounds that The Infected make, you can check out Naughty Dog’s sound designer who delved into the process.

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has more information on whether The Last of Us Part II would have a DLC like The Last of Us: Left Behind. During a spoilercast with Kinda Funny GamesNeil stated that currently there are “no plans” to release DLC for Part II. But who knows, maybe we will see a DLC drop sometime into the future. If you want to find a cool and slightly gross way of distracting those hungry clickers to give you a little breathing room, check out this article that offers up a crafty way to get a step ahead of those big infected heads.

The Last of Us Part II released exclusively for PS4 Friday, June 19, 2020, and you can order the game on Amazon. You can also check out our review of the game if you haven’t already.
