The Last of Us Part II Fan Art Showcases an Emotional Ellie and Joel Moment

Culture, Ellie, fan art, joel, Naughty Dog, Originals, PlayStation, PS4, PS5, Sony, the last of us, the last of us: part 2

Are you tired of hearing about The Last of Us Part 2 yet? I’m glad you said no because there’s a lot more in store for this almost six-month-old game. Coming up this Thursday at The Games Awards 2020, we will get to see how the title fairs against Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, DOOM Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons for that prestigious Game of the Year Award. We also got to see a brand new trailer from Naughty Dog showing Abby’s turbulent and emotional journey throughout the game. As much as we love and support all games, let’s build some hype behind The Last of Us Part 2 in this amazingly detailed fan art piece.

Twitter user DafnaWinchester, a concept artist at Friendly Fox studio (formerly 4FriendsGames), has crafted a stunning illustration of Ellie and Joel from the emotional scene in which Joel treats Ellie to a surprise birthday gift at the museum. Even though the sketch is primarily void of color, the beautiful beam of light that hits Ellie’s space helmet as the twinkling of stars shine down from above is so incredibly striking. DafnaWinchester captures Ellie’s excitement beautifully upon receiving her present and Joel’s expression of admiration and love for Ellie is caught in such a wonderful way. Of course, with art as brilliant as this, you can be sure that it will catch the attention of Naughty Dog’s Co-President, Neil Druckmann who was quick to retweet it with the caption “You did alright.”

Dafnawinchester showcases their immense creative abilities over on Instagram where a few other familiar faces receive the artistic touch. Some of the artwork includes Eivor from Assassins Creed: Valhalla, Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and a heck of a lot of characters from The Last of Us Part 2 that are seriously incredibly looking. Please do go and check them out right here and if something catches your eye, you can buy it right here as a T-shirt, mug, phone case, print, or pin at Dafnawinchester’s Red Bubble page. You can also follow her on Twitter to stay up to date on all of her artwork.
