The holiday season (or winter break if you are a student) is coming up, and Bethesda has offered the perfect way to kick off the holiday season by offering a free trial of its survival horror title, The Evil Within 2.

Available today for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One gamers can now play the opening chapters of The Evil Within 2, free of charge. Additionally, if you decide you want the adventure to continue, you can purchase the game and best of all, all the progress you made during the free trial will carry over so you can pick up right where you left off.

The Evil Within 2 was released last October and was developed by Tango Gameworks, the studio founded by Resident Evil series creator, Shinji Mikami. Players will once again take control of Sebastian Castellanos, who returns to STEM after finding out his daughter, Lilly has been kidnapped by Mobius, as well as to investigate the conspiracies of Mobius. DualShockers’ own Ryan Meitzler reviewed the title for the website, which you can check out here. On top of that, several Bethesda games, including The Evil Within 2 received Xbox One X updates.

For more information on the game, you can check out the official website, or if you are interested in playing the free trial on PC, you can check out the system requirements needed to run the title.
