Back at The Game Awards, Bethesda gave us a sneak peek at the new content coming to The Elder Scrolls Online in 2021. At the time, we didn’t know much about the Gates of Oblivion adventure, but that all changed today. Bethesda pulled back the curtain in a big way for ESO‘s content plans this year. Not only do we know more about what they’re planning to do with the Gates of Oblivion, but we also got an in-depth look at the next major chapter Blackwood. Check it out below if you missed the stream.

Gates of Oblivion is going to be a years-long saga of events. It all kicks off with Flames of Ambition in March before moving into Blackwood in the summer. From there, the team has two more unannounced DLC packs scheduled for later in the year. Flames of Ambition takes players to new dungeons to “reveal the threat of Mehrunes Dagon” before leading into Blackwood.

Blackwood brings over 30 hours of new story content for players to explore. It takes place inside a brand new zone that ties into the overarching Gates of Oblivion adventure. As you’d expect, there is so much to do. They’re implementing a new companion system, are dropping a new 12-player trial, and tons more. And, of course, this is just the first half of the year-long event. Expect to hear about the other two drops in the coming weeks and months.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date. The Flames of Ambition hits on March 8 for PC and March 16 on consoles. Blackwood drops on June 1 on PC and June 8 on consoles.
