Another important expansion for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls: Legends titled Isle of Madness will be releasing on January 24. This expansion will be coming to all versions of the game that are available right now, and we can learn what to expect from Isle of Madness with a new trailer released today.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends – Isle of Madness takes place in the Shivering Isles and follows a father on a journey to save his son which eventually puts him at odds with the Daedric Prince of Madness. When it comes to gameplay, Isle of Madness includes a new Double Card mechanic as well as two new kinds of lane conditions: Dementia and Mania.

Double Cards, simply enough, are contain two distinct cards in one package that only needs to be played once. After being drawn, a Double Card will split into the two cards that make it up, which should give players more options for less of a cost. As for the new lanes, the Dementia Lane damages the opponent if the player controls the most powerful card in play while the Mania Lane lets the player with the card that has the highest health draw another card.

All three of these things seem like they interesting new mechanics that should spice up The Elder Scrolls: Legends for longtime players. It has been less than a year since Sparkypants took over the game’s development from Dire Wolf Digital, so it’s interesting to see their vision of the game finally fleshed out with expansions like Isle of Madness. If you want to pick Isle of Madness up, it will cost $19.99, though pre-ordering it will net you a Prince of Madness card back and player title: “The Shivering.”

That being said, you can actually pre-order a premium version of the expansion for $49.99. That extra $30 will get you premium playsets of all 55 collectible cards, a premium version of the aforementioned card back, and the exclusive player title “Master of Madness”. You would definitely have to be one to spend $50 on an expansion pre-order for a card game.

You can check out the new trailer for Isle of Madness below. The Elder Scrolls: Legends is currently available on PC, iOS, and Android, with this upcoming expansion releasing on all currently available platforms. The Elder Scrolls: Legends will eventually be making its way to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
