Although it was planned to hit the Switch during 2019The Elder Scrolls: Blades now won’t be arriving on the platform until a bit later on.

In a new update blog today regarding The Elder Scrolls: Blades, Bethesda announced that the currently mobile-only title now won’t be coming to Nintendo’s handheld-console hybrid until next year. The game has now been delayed formally into 2020, with no further release window other than “early” having been detailed at this time.

“We know how eager our players are to dive into Blades on the Nintendo Switch and we’ve been hard at work to make it happen. Unfortunately, amidst all the other changes we’re making to Blades, we’ve had to delay our Switch release until early 2020,” said Bethesda Game Studios of the decisions. “We can’t wait until you can begin your quest in Blades on the Switch, and we’re confident this additional time will let us deliver the polished gameplay our fans deserve. We deeply appreciate your patience!”

While Blades won’t be coming to Switch for a bit longer, the game is set to receive a rather major update in the coming weeks. PvP is finally landing on The Elder Scrolls: Blades in a new update that is slated to drop in early December. This will let you do battle with other players just for fun or to gain new loot. When the Switch version arrives, PvP will also be compatible with other platforms as well.

For now, The Elder Scrolls: Blades is available on both iOS and Android and can be downloaded free of charge.
