Originally planned to release this summer, the second installment in The Dark Pictures Anthology, titled Little Hope, has now been given a new release date.
Announced by Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Entertainment via a new trailer, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is set to launch later this fall on October 30. Given that this is a horror game by nature, releasing so close to Halloween seems like a perfect decision. The game will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC and is said to be available in Early Access to those who pre-order The Curator’s Cut of the title.
As for the new trailer itself, it generally gives a broad overview of what players can expect from The Dark Pictures: Little Hope. The story finds five characters who happen upon the town of Little Hope where bizarre things start happening. Specifics of the narrative haven’t really been divulged, but it seems as though the five protagonists then must find a way to escape from the time while keeping their lives intact.
Much like its predecessor, Man of Medan, Little Hope will feature both single-player and co-op offerings. This means that you can play the game online with friends and make different choices that will affect the outcome of the story.
While we weren’t as keen on Man of Medan when it launched last year, hopefully, Little Hope proves to be a step up for this Anthology. Even though this is only the second chapter in the series, Supermassive has previously said that it has plans for eight different games. If Little Hope is similar to Man of Medan, by the game’s conclusion, perhaps we’ll get a teaser of what’s to come next in The Dark Pictures Anthology.
