Take A Look at Super Mario Sunshine Running on the Switch

Throughout the first two years of the Nintendo Switch’s shelf life, the system has received a multitude of fantastic games and has evolved into the go-to system for indie developers and players. However, other then some NES games, we have still not seen the huge library of classic Nintendo games make their way to the system via the virtual console or another alternative. Now some players are taking matters into their own hands.

Over on Twitter, @langer_hans shared a video of him running the highly underrated Super Mario Sunshine from the GameCube on the Nintendo Switch. On top of that, the game was running quite smoothly at 30 frames per second. You can see for yourself in the video below.

Now, this was just a quick snippet. We haven’t seen what the game would run like in more demanding areas of Delfino Plaza. Nonetheless, it is still cool to see.

I have to say, I would love to jump back into Super Mario Sunshine if Nintendo actual brought GameCube titles to the Switch. But, sadly, there has been no official word of any classic games coming to the system. The closest we have gotten to it was a rumor that circulated a few months ago stating that the name of the SNES Classic emulator was found inside the NES Online app. It could have been just a coincidence although and Nintendo never officially commentated on it. Hopefully, one day Nintendo will implement a new virtual console or bring other consoles to Nintendo Online.
