Back in September, Bandai Namco announced that they’d be bringing the latest Sword Art Online JRPGs to the Nintendo Switch. Both Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be coming to the console-handheld hybrid in the west sometime later this year. As the earlier entry between the two titles, Hollow Realization focuses on recreating the world of Aincrad, now called Ainground, from the first season of the anime and manga of the same name. It’s a more traditional setting for the series and the actual gameplay elements are quite varied compared to Fatal Bullet, which is more like a third-person shooter action RPG. The game itself follows a storyline that’s separate from the canonical story and takes place three years after the original events that transpired in Sword Art Online.

Additionally, whether you’re hopping into these games for the first or second time, they’ll include all of their previously released DLC content so there’s sure to be new things to experience. You can check out our reviews for both Fatal Bullet and Hollow RealizationThe new trailer reveals that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is coming to Switch on April 25 in Japan; the game will be coming westward a bit later in the year. However, if you’d like to get your hands on it now it is available on PS4, PS Vita, and PC.
