While Terry Bogard is set to be the fourth DLC character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it has already been confirmed that Nintendo will continue to add more characters to the game following the conclusion of the game’s five-character Fighters Pass add-on. Now, through a new leak, we may have an idea as to who those impending fighters could be.

Recently, new footage from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has seemingly leaked and it features some of the Mii Fighter characters wearing garb from franchises that currently aren’t included in the game. As seen in the video below from Papa Genos, this leak shows one Mii Fighter wearing a Cacodemon costume from the DOOM series while the other is wearing Mallow attire from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

This leak is intriguing given the fact that both Geno from Super Mario RPG and Doom Guy from DOOM have been two of the most rumored characters to be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at some point. The fact that Mallow and Cacodemon attire could be coming to the game could point to the inclusion of both Geno and Doom Guy at some point down the road.

That said, the Smash community has been notorious for leaks over the years, many of which later turned out to be false. This latest leak could prove to be fake once again, so it’s best not to put your hope in it right now.

Still, as some in the know have pointed out, it would be very hard for someone to fake Mii Fighter costumes such as this. While modding is nothing new in Smash, the specifications one would need to go through to make this look as legitimate as it is would be pretty vast.

Assuming the footage we’re seeing is real though, it also does come with the caveat that Geno and Doom Guy still might not arrive down the road as playable fighters. There have been franchises represented in Super Smash Bros. that then don’t have playable fighters from that property then represented on the full roster. The most notable example of this recently would be Undertale. While the series included Sans attire for the Mii Gunner, there still isn’t a proper Undertale character that is included on the roster of Ultimate.

As it is with all Smash Bros. leaks, it’s wise to hope for the best and expect the worst. And even if this all turns out to later be fake, it seems as though Terry Bogard should be arriving relatively soon in-game, which gives us plenty to look forward to.

Until then, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now exclusively on Switch.
