Chucklefish Games and ConcernedApe made a surprise announcement today when they revealed that the award-winning farming sim Stardew Valley is slated to release on iOS devices later in October.

That’s right, one of the most addicting games of the past few years will now be available to play on both your iPhone and iPad, so good luck getting anything done. This port of Stardew Valley has been worked on with UK-based studio The Secret Police, who are also actively working on an Android version of the game. ConcernedApe also says that this mobile port has no impact on the multiplayer portion of the game that is actively being worked on for console platforms.

As for what players can expect to see in this version of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe gave a quick rundown of some of the features:

  • Supports iPhone and iPad gaming, just make sure to check on the App Store page whether the game is compatible with your iOS version

  • It’s the full game, not a cut down version, and plays almost identically to all other versions. The main difference is that it has been rebuilt for touch-screen gameplay on iOS (new UI, menu systems and controls)

  • £7.99 / $7.99 / 8,99 € with no in-app purchases

  • Includes 1.3 single player content, such as the Night Market, but not Multiplayer

  • PC players can transfer their save data to the iOS version via iTunes – but make sure to always back up your save data first! Mods are not supported, and any save data transferred containing mods may cause compatibility issues.

Lastly, there’s a new trailer for Stardew Valley below which shows off how certain things like the HUD will look on mobile devices. Stardew Valley arrives on iOS on October 24 and can be pre-ordered right now.
