BioWare announced recently that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be getting a new expansion called “Onslaught.” In their news post, BioWare speaks of all the new content that will be coming to the popular MMO-RPG. The expansion shall include two new planets to explore, a new Flashpoint on the war-torn world of Corellia, a new Operation set in the lush jungles of Dxun and more, while players will get the chance to get new loot with an improved inventory system, an increased level cap, and new abilities.

The “Onslaught” expansion is the seventh expansion for The Old Republic since its release back in 2011. Additionally, the expansion is going to give players a new type of gear slot. Tactical items will change the way that your character build plays, and these new items can be gained in numerous ways through the game: PvE, PvP, Galactic Command, and also by crafting them.

This is the first expansion to come out since the “Knights of the Eternal Throne” expansion that released back in December 2016. It has been a long while since players have gotten a big chunk of new content, so this is likely to attract new and old players to play The Old Republic again.

You can play Star Wars: The Old Republic for free. The free-to-play version allows you to play up to Level 50 as the Original Class and play the planetary storylines. If you like the game after, you can pay $29.99 as a one-time purchase for a 60-day membership.

The “Onslaught” expansion will release later this year in September and will be free to subscribed players.
