The spooky season is officially in full swing. It’s the time of the year when people like to spend their time carving pumpkins, creating costumes, and playing their favorite horror-themed games. However, not all games featuring ghouls and other graveyard nasties have to be intense and frightening experiences. The trailer for Halloween Forever on PlayStation 4 and Ps Vita shows how a game can feature disembodied heads while still remaining quite cute.
Holloween Forever is an 8-bit retro-inspired platformer from Imaginary Monsters where you play as Pumpkin Man; a creature that has been animated by magic, sporting a pumpkin for a head and a pair of traditional dungarees. Adventuring through three creepy worlds, the adorable little creature fends off his monstrous foes by barfing balls of candy corn as a means of attack.
Throughout his quest to discover why things are so spooky, he takes on a number of increasingly bizarre enemies. These include a lot of standard Halloween tropes such as skeletons, spiders, and bats. However, there are also some more unusual creatures to encounter throughout the game including chainsaw-wielding maniacs, demonic entities, and massive monsters who spit out insects.
Halloween Forever launches tomorrow, October 19, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. It can also be picked up on Steam.
