Entergram announced on its official Twitter account that Kaleidoscope of Phantasm Prison, the next horror game by Ryukishi07 and 07th Expansion, has been indefinitely delayed. Kaleidoscope of Phantasm Prison was supposed to launch on November 28 in Japan, for PS4, PS Vita, and Switch.

The game getting “indefinitely” delayed doesn’t necessarily mean the next release date will be much farther away. It’s also important to note that 07th Expansion and Ryukishi07 are currently working on Ciconia When They Cry Episode 1, which is launching on October 4 on PC worldwide, and currently has a demo out. A new Umineko game launches the same day as well. They’re probably crunching on Ciconia right now, and it wouldn’t be wise to follow-up with a crunch on Kaleidoscope of Phantasm Prison to accommodate the November 28 release date. This is even truer considering Ryukishi07 recently talked about how 07th Expansion isn’t made of “mad young people” anymore.

Entergram itself is also handling the PS4 or Switch ports of many visual novels.

In my case, I’m happy the game is getting delayed as I hope they take all the time needed to make it into a masterpiece. Another visual novel, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, is also launching on November 28 in Japan too. So now I won’t have to hesitate between it and Kaleidoscope of Phantasm Prison anymore.

Gensou Rougoku no Kaleidoscope, to cite its Japanese name, was fully revealed in August 2019. The game’s official abbreviation is Gerokasu, which means trash” in Japanese. You can check here the first staff and cast comments on the game along with its first opening animation. You should also read all the story details and more staff and cast comments here.

Entergram and 07th Expansion also revealed multiple details, voice samples, and staff and cast comments on each of the four heroines. You can read about white-haired Fuuka Gojo here, and about the red-haired Karin Tamaru here. We’ll soon cover the details on the two other heroines Mina Yuasa and Doremi Hanabusa.
