Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included new information about the upcoming live-action visual novel Root Letter: Last Answer.
First of all, we learn the platforms that the game will launch for in Japan, and those are PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PS Vita.
The game also received a release date for the local market. It will hit the Japanese shelves on December 20th.
If you’re unfamiliar with Root Letter: Last Answer, it’s basically a live-action version of the original Root Letter, which is a charming visual novel set in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. It tells the story of a man in his thirties living in Tokyo, temporarily moving to Shimane in order to locate a penpal from his school days. Unfortunately, things are much more complicated than they seem, and mysteries add onto each other, delivering many shocking revelations.
Root Letter: Last Answer was announced last month together with a still-mysterious sequel tentatively-named Root Letter 2.
The original game shipped over 400,000 copies for PS4, PS Vita, and PC. You can read my review from back when it was released on consoles.
