A few weeks back, some high-profile rumors began circling the Internet related to NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 11. While there was a lot of information shared in the supposed leak, one of the more notable details was that WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey would be featured during the reveal event for MK11 and would also announce her appearance in-game as a guest voice actor for the character Sonya Blade.

Now, a day before Mortal Kombat 11’s reveal event, Rousey herself has confirmed that she will indeed be in attendance during tomorrow’s showing live from Los Angeles. In a recent post on Instagram, Rousey posted a picture of herself with the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event invitation card. Rousey’s caption for the post cheekily said, “Don’t worry, Earthrealm is safe with me 😉 Can’t wait for Thursday!” I’m not one to read into a winking emoticon typically, but it sure does seem suspicious in this case.

While by no means proof that Rousey will indeed be voicing Sonya Blade, those rumors do now seem to be incredibly likely. It’s also worth mentioning that one of the other rumors associated with this original leak was that of the box art, which later turned out to be true after Mortal Kombat 11 director Ed Boon revealed the official cover art shortly after on Twitter. So far, everything has lined up just like the leak said.

Then again, there are plenty of other wrestlers who are attending this Mortal Kombat 11 reveal as well, so maybe it’s all just a happy coincidence. WWE New Day member Xavier Woods has stated that he’ll be at tomorrow’s shindig, along with AEW’s Cody Rhodes. Maybe wrestlers just like to attend Mortal Kombat-related events?

Regardless, we’ll have more details after the reveal event transpires tomorrow. If you’re interested in watching for yourself, the live stream is set to begin at 1:00 PM EST and will last for an hour. We’ll also be in attendance live from LA and should hopefully have some impressions on the game for you shortly after.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out later this spring on April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
