Rockstar Games, the developers and publishers of the critically-acclaimed Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead franchises, alongside much more, are currently hiring for jobs which include references to the next-generation and upcoming Rockstar projects.

The job listings, which have been spotted across multiple Rockstar studios, are searching for varied roles. A listing from Rockstar India searches for a Senior Environment Artist; mentioning that the role involves building “next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects”.

On top of that, a listing from Rockstar Games’ main studio in NYC shows more references to next-gen work in the search for a MoCap Tools Developer. MoCap (Motion Capture) is one of Rockstar’s main tools in developing and capturing actor’s movements, especially facial expressions, for its projects.

This listing yet again references next-gen, but in the form of new MoCap tools. The job involves help in creating and building “upon the next generation of MoCap tools and pipeline.” It’ll be interesting to see just how much more amazing the team can make the technology.

Rockstar Games are known for being one of the most innovative video game companies on the market – spending almost decades on each project in order to perfect each and every detail. They are infamous for delaying projects but still pulling in ridiculously huge sales figures and review scores.

Due to that, it’s not surprising that they are already building the pipeline for supporting the next-generation of consoles – in fact, I’d be surprised if they haven’t been doing so for a few years at least. It’s safe to say that we absolutely cannot wait to see what they are working on. Bring on the next-gen!
