Arguably the most peculiar game in sports, Rocket League, will be receiving an update very soon.

Developer Psyonix revealed in a blog post that Rocket League is set to receive some improvements when the game’s next update lands on all platforms on Feb. 1. Along with new content and some quality of life improvements, the update will also see the addition of the highly requested Fennec Decals in the Esports Shop. The Fennec Decals will be available for all teams in the Esports Shop for 300 Esports Tokens. The blog post also features a photo slideshow that shows off each of the decals.

In addition, Psyonix made it clear that they’ve been listening to player feedback regarding the effects and lighting in the Neon Fields arena. A new settings option called “Effect Intensity” will allow players to change the intensity and motion of visuals in the arena to either “default” or “low.” The “low” setting will not only disable pulsing effects and flashing lights, but will also reduce or disable moving effects/background visuals and reduce the brightness or intensity of background lights. Seeing as accessibility is becoming a bigger topic in gaming with each passing year, it is nice to see Psyonix including the option.

All of this and more will be available to players when Rocket League receives its next update on February 1 at 4 p.m. The game recently went free-to-play, so there has never been a better time to score some goals with a car like the present. For those who are lucky enough to own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, Psyonix updated the game to include improvements for next-generation consoles, so there is no excuse not to check it out if you haven’t already.

Rocket League is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
