Rocket League Batman-themed Goal Explosion Launches Next Week

It has been a long time since Rocket League owners were teased on a Batman-themed Goal Explosion. First showcased in the original Batmobile reveal last March, developer Psyonix never actually added the Goal Explosion to the game — giving the explanation that it was a “trailer-only special effect.”

All of that changes next week, when Psyonix — in an apparent sponsorship deal for the Justice League movie — will be enabling the Goal Explosion for any and all Batmobile owners.

Announced via Rocket League‘s official Steam page, the effect (seen in the Gif below) is easily one of the best. After getting the ball into the goalpost, players are treated to a Bat-Signal outline with bats fluttering everywhere. Of course, this explosion is only available for use if you are driving the Batmobile; the effect isn’t equipable on any other Battle-Car.

As mentioned above, this update (which comes on November 14, 2017) will be free to everyone who already owns a Batmobile in-game. Those who grab the fan-favorite car via the “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack” for $1.99 will automatically include the Goal Effect moving forward.

These kind of partnerships are not uncommon — even specifically with Warner Bros. and DC. The Batmobile itself released as a promotion for the Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.

Rocket League is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One; the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch also on November 14, 2017. Check out the effect below:
