We’re now on the precipice of the release of Capcom’s latest game in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village.

The title is due for release this Friday, May 7, and players are deciding when, where and which edition to pre-order.

For many years, pre-order bonuses have been retailer’s ways of alluring customers to purchase directly from them, however, with the shift to digital downloads, pre-order bonuses are more limited.

Here’s the Resident Evil Pre Order Bonus you’ll get for purchasing the game early and a breakdown of the Resident Evil Village Deluxe Vs Standard Editions.

What is the Resident Evil Village Pre Order Bonus?

Players who pre-order Resident Evil Village will be able to get their hands on a pair of items.

The first of which is the Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm. Mr. Raccoon is the infamous mascot of the Racoon Zoo and you can now carry him around on your weapon at all times.

The second item is probably more useful and is the Survival Resources Pack. This pack includes a range of healing items and ammo for players to use throughout the game.

Capcom also confirms that these items will be available with physical versions of Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil Village Deluxe vs Standard

While the pre-order bonuses are a nice extra, it’s the Resident Evil Village Deluxe vs Standard contents which are more important for many players.

The Standard Edition of the game comes with the game (of course) as well as a nifty RE: Village Mini Soundtrack.

The Deluxe Edition comes jam packed with a load more content for players to sink their teeth into, in the form of the Trauma Pack.

This exclusive content includes:

  • Samurai Edge – AW Model-01 Gun
  • Resident Evil 7 Found Footage Filter
  • Resident Evil 7 Tape Recorder Save Point
  • Saferoom Music “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”
  • Mr. Everywhere Weapon Charm
  • Unlock “Village of Shadows” Difficulty
  • The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork
  • The Baker Incident Report

In terms of the price different, there’s not a huge deal in it. The Standard Edition costs £54.99/$59.99 and Deluxe Edition Costs £64.99/$69.99.

Which Edition Should You Go For?

This really depends on how big of a Resident Evil fan you personally are.

The Standard Edition is recommended more for the casual Resi fan, however, for only 10 bucks more, the Deluxe Edition comes packed with content and is probably the choice for the more hardcore fan.
