Two bonus game modes from the original release of Resident Evil 2 on PS1 will be making a triumphant return in Capcom’s modern remake. ‘The 4th Survivor’ as well as ‘The Tofu Survivor’ are returning. Both modes were relatively difficult to unlock in the original version of Resident Evil 2, it’ll be interesting to see if they’ll be easier to acquire this time around.
On Friday, some ResetEra users posted leaked information from the ‘1-shot demo’ where both the modes were listed in the game. If you don’t mind spoilers, you can head over there and read more.
HUNK is the star of ‘The Fourth Survivor.’ The short scenario has you escaping Racoon City as the Umbrella Special Agent. You’ll be equipped with a set amount of items, equipment, and weapons, so it’s important for you to use them sparingly.
‘The Tofu Survivor’ on the other hand, is a much more challenging mode. Interestingly, it’s actually based on ‘The Fourth Survivor’ mission, however, you’re only equipped with a knife and a couple of herbs. On top of that, you’re playing as a lively piece of Tofu instead of HUNK.
Resident Evil 2 is launching on January 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’d like to try the game for yourself, you can give the ‘1-shot’ demo a go until January 31. Nearly 1.4 million people have played the demo as of writing this; only 28 percent have completed it.
