Red Dead Redemption 2’s New Trailer Focuses on the End of the Wild West Era

Spread the word Red Dead fans; today, Rockstar Games has unveiled a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated title, which fleshes out the game’s setting and sets players up for what they can expect the plot to focus on.

At the beginning of the trailer, the video explains that in 1899, America has exited out of the wild west era, with lawmen beginning to crack down on crooks as well as eliminating any remaining outlaw gangs that stand in their way. With those who refuse to surrender to the new way of life end up executed.

For those of you who do not know, Red Dead Redemption 2 serves as a prequel to the 2010 title, Red Dead Redemption. Players assume the role of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw member of the Dutch van der Linde gang. Based on this newfound information provided in the trailer today, we can infer that Red Dead Redemption 2‘s plot will center around Arthur and the rest of the Dutch van der Linde gang rebelling against the new era ushered into America.
