Razer, known for their gaming keyboards, mice, headphones, laptops, and even the Razer Phone has released a new mechanical keyboard named BlackWidow Lite. This new keyboard comes after the previous version, the BlackWidow Elite which we’ve reviewed.

This new keyboard is a fully functioning mechanical keyboard that has been designed to be more minimalistic and silent. I’m usually used to hearing mechanical keyboards clacking away and adore the sound, but the BlackWidow Lite uses Razer’s Orange Mechanical Switches, providing the user with near-silent and tactile feedback. It also ships with separate o-rings in case users want extra sound dampening and fatigue control.

Each individual key on the BlackWidow Lite has been tested for durability, allowing up to eighty-million keystrokes. It joins the Razer Atheris (Mouse) and Razer Goliathus Mobile Stealth (Mouse Pad) adding to the companies performance-productivity peripherals roundup. The Atheris and Goliathus Mobile Stealth both share the same minimalistic style as the BlackWidow Lite.

In a press release, Razer’s Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said:

One third of our daily lives are spent in front of desks, so we want you to experience a keyboard that makes typing feel great. The BlackWidow Lite keyboard was engineered to be the perfect companion for work and for play.”

The keyboard lacks a num-pad and is powered by a detachable cable, allowing it to be more portable. The keys are all backlit by white light and comes with various brightness settings. It can also have macros assigned with Razer Synapse 3.

Razer announced that they’re bringing mouse and keyboard support to the Xbox One console, and that update went live earlier this week.

The Razer BlackWidow Lite is available now for $89.99. Some images are below.
