Arc System Works has revealed Ramlethal Valentine as the newest character joining Guilty Gear Strive. She is featured is the new, fourth trailer of the upcoming fighting game.

Ramlethal is a fairly recent Guilty Gear character as she was first introduced in the previous iteration, Guilty Gear Xrd. As a boss character. She’s cute, has shark teeth, and two huge swords she dual-wields. Ramlethal’s design didn’t change much from Xrd to Strive, and she’s still as lightly dressed as well. The new bandages on her left side also brings in a half Zettai Ryouiki factor in. I’ll be particularly amused if some claim this is an attempt to cover her up. Ramlethal Valentine also has a new BGM, which you can hear in the trailer:

As a side note, The Arcsys USA Twitter shared a Baiken tweet shortly before the reveal, in a playful way. Perhaps she’ll be next.

Guilty Gear Strive was announced at Evo 2019, as a “complete rebuild of the series”. We then heard more about the game at Tokyo Game Show 2019, and characters started being introduced one after another. The roster so far includes Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Chipp Zanuff, Axl Low, May, Faust, Millia Rage, Zato-1, Potemkin, Ramlethal Valentine, and a new unnamed samurai-looking character. Guilty Gear Strive will feature rollback netcode.

The next trailer will launch in August 2020.

Guilty Gear -Strive- will launch in early 2021 on PS4. Arc System Works delayed the initially 2020 planned release. In a statement, Arcsys explained it will further improve the game’s quality and take into account feedback from the latest Closed Beta Test. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down development. Multiple Japanese studios have been working from home, delaying games or DLC, including Nintendo, Square Enix, Sega, Entergram, or Kojima Productions.
