Bandai Namco, Full Metal Panic! Fight Who Dares Wins, News, Originals, PS4, Trailers

Today during a stage show at the Fantasia Bunko Great Thanksgiving 2017 at the Belle Salle Akihabara venue in Tokyo (livestreamed on Nico Nico) Bandai Namco announced a brand new game dedicated to the Full Metal Panic! series.

The game is titled Full Metal Panic! Tatakau: Who Dares Wins (Full Metal Panic! Fight: Who Dares Wins)and it will be released exclusively for PS4 in Japan in 2018.

The genre is a turn-based strategy RPG, and development is handled by Bandai Namco’s internal B.B. Studio, that normally works on the Super Robot Wars series. The developer’s style is certainly visible in the tactical gameplay with robots modeled in super-deformed style.

Interestingly, the trailer is fully in English, even if we don’t know whether this means that the game will be developed for the western market as well, or not.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Full Metal Panic! franchise, it started in 1998 with a light novel series by Shoji Gatoh, which then sparked several anime and manga series. It tells the story of a young girl named Kaname Chidori, who discovers having the mysterious powers of a “whispered.” Things start going really haywire (in a totally adorable way) when the secret military organization sends a young and common sense-less soldier named Sosuke Sagara to act as her bodyguard.

You can check the video out below, alongside the key art and official logo. As a bonus, you can also check out the brand new trailers for the new anime series Full Metal Panic IV (Invisible Victory) airing in 2018 as well, and for the Director’s Cut version of the original series.

Now, you’ll forgive me, but I have a mini-bottle of champagne to uncork. Full Metal Panic! is by far my favorite anime, so this is absolutely massive for me.
