PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has inspired tons of new battle royale games to pop up over the last year due to its success. Some have even become nearly as popular, like Fortnite: Battle Royale. Today, publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Vostok Games, who worked on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise, announced that they will be throwing their hat into the battle royale genre with Fear the Wolves, a post-apocalyptic battle royale FPS, later this year.

Fear the Wolves is supposed to launch on both PC and consoles later this year, but it will hit PC first via Early Access sometime earlier in 2018. As I mentioned before, Fear the Wolves is a post-apocalyptic battle royale game. In it, players who are either by themselves or part of a squad, attempt to be the last man (or group) standing out of 100 players and survive the harsh environment of Chernobyl, where the game takes place.

The game is trying to spice the battle royale genre up by putting an emphasis on what the environment can do to the player. There is dynamic weather and a day-night cycle, so players will have to constantly be aware of their surrounding in any given situation. Players can also find gear in order to trudge through areas with the worst radiation problems, but they may run into tough mutated creatures there.

Not much else is known about the game at this time, DualShockers will be sure to let you know when more is revealed. Fear the Wolves is going to come to PC via Early Access later this year, and will hopefully also launch on unspecified consoles before the end of 2018.
