Pokemon Sword and Shield December 1st Event Makes it Snow in Wild Area For All Players

Pokemon Sword and Shield gets a pretty nifty new event for all players: because it’s the first day of December, all sections of the massive Wild Area are currently locked into snowy weather. This means that the Pokemon encountered in the grassy areas will be primarily Ice types such as Sneasel, Cubchoo, Vanillite, and Vanillish among others:

I’m always a huge fan of these kinds of small but universal game events — it has this uncanny ability to sort of unite players in a simple and fun way. Hopefully we’ll get more of these kinds of events later on.

In recent news, Pokemon Sword and Shield are already the eighth best-selling Nintendo Switch games of all time at six million units sold during its launch weekend alone. Check out pictures of the game’s launch event held at Nintendo NYC. And in not so cheery recent news, Pokemon Company International is looking to sue leakers who spread around pictures of their then unreleased official strategy guide.

trailer introduces items that made their debut including mints, Exp. Candy, nutrition drinks, and Pokemon boxes for on the go ‘Mon storage. Elsewhere, there’s currently a Pokemon Center London popup store that’s selling strictly Pokemon merchandise, which the only other Nintendo store being located in New York, US.

Pokemon Sword and Shield just released for Nintendo Switch on November 15th.
