Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment released the PlayStation Store’s top downloaded games for the month of July (2017) in North America and Europe.
As you may remember, last month the North American PS4 chart was topped by Gun Media’s Friday the 13th: The Game, followed by Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy at No.2. However, for this month it’s the Bandicoot who has stayed at the top, moved up one spot, and is the new PS4 chart king.
Right behind Crash Bandicoot was Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition at No.2, God of War III Remastered at No.3, Friday the 13th: The Game at No.4, and Rocket League rounding out the top five. As you will notice, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition and God of War III Remastered are much higher up the charts than normal, and this is largely, if not entirely, thanks to sales and discounts throughout July.
Meanwhile, new debuts for the month on the PS4 chart was limited to Elite Dangerous, which snuck in at No.20. Other notable releases such as Sundered and Pyre failed to chart, however, as smaller releases that released late in July, this was always likely to be the result despite critical acclaim.
Elsewhere on the North American charts, SUPERHOT VR debuted at No.1, knocking back last month’s No.1 (and debut at the time) Arizona Sunshine to No.2. Meanwhile, GTA: San Andreas and God of War: Collection once again topped the PS2 Classics and PS Vita charts respectively.
Over in Europe, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy held onto the crown of the PS4 chart for another month, making it the double winner for July. It was followed by GTA V, Rocket League, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Minecraft, and Friday the 13th: The Game in that order (2-6). It’s only debut for the month was also Elite Dangerous, which flew into the No.16 spot.
Elsewhere on the European charts, SUPERHOT VR pulled off the July double debuting at the top of European PS VR charts as well. Meanwhile, Street Fighter X Tekken topped the PS Vita chart and Crash Bandicoot topped the PS1 and PS2 Classics chart.
