During PlayStation’s The Future of Gaming event, PlayStation announced Astro’s Playroom for the PS5.

Coming from PlayStation’s Japan Studio, Astro’s Playroom is a platformer that takes players through the PlayStation 5. The game features four worlds that are based on components of the console. Best of all, it’ll come pre-loaded on the console when it launches later this year. The game will also take advantage of the features of the DualSense controller.

Astro’s Playroom comes a few years after 2018’s Astro Bot: Rescue Mission for the PlayStation VR. The 3D platformer took full advantage of the headset as you go on a quest to find your other robot crewmates. The game offered fun and creative ways of using the headset, making for one of the best PlayStation VR games available. By the look of Astro’s Playroom, it looks like Japan Studio will continue to offer the same amount of creativity as last time.

This wasn’t the only game to be announced during The Future of Gaming. PlayStation announced new first-party games such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Horizon: Forbidden West. As for third-party developers and publishers, we got a look at BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray, Resident Evil VIII: Village, and Square Enix’s Project Athia. Additionally, we got a look at what the PlayStation 5 looks like alongside some of the accessories it’ll launch with.

Astro’s Playroom launches this holiday when the PlayStation 5 releases. You can watch the announcement trailer for the game below. While we wait for its release, you can check out Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on the PlayStation 4 now. As more news gets announced about the PlayStation 5, including its release date and price, we’ll be sure to let you know.
