Suda51 is passionate about the No More Heroes franchise (understatement of the year, I know) and during an interview at the recently passed GDC, he revealed a little hint of exciting news possibly regarding the third installment of the series: No More Heroes 3.

Editor’s Note: Be warned, some spoilers for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes can be seen below. Proceed with caution!

When asked about the Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes ending, No More Heroes director Goichi “Suda51” Suda stated that “I hope around E3 time I’ll have something cool to announce.” This is the second time Suda51 has given fans of the franchise a wink at some exciting news regarding No More Heroes 3, the first being around January after the launch of Travis Strikes Again.

According to Suda51, his intention with the No More Heroes 3 teaser at the end was meant to emulate something similar to what the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) does in its own films. He went on to say that he wanted to send a clear message to fans so they opted to include that brief demo which Grasshopper had been using for R&D purposes. He went on to say via translation that “we’re going to really work hard to make 3 come true.”

As for what the actual ending teaser in Travis Strikes Again entails, at the conclusion of Travis Strikes Again, the game ends with a brief tech demo of sorts showing off what Grasshopper Manufacture and was supposedly working on next. The game in question was clearly that of No More Heroes 3, although the title of the game was never properly mentioned.

Considering his strong desire to make the third title a reality and the fact that he reconfirmed a possible announcement at E3, it seems fans waiting for some kind of big reveal will most likely be more than satisfied.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch; DualShockers reviewed the game and awarded it a 7.5 out of 10, noting it was a “fun return” for the series. If you are interested in catching up on the series, the game is available on Amazon now.
