Nier Automata Bursts Into Animal Crossing With Fan-Made Cosplay

2B, 9S, Animal Crossing Cosplay, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Culture, neir: Automata, Nintendo, Originals, Switch, Yoko Taro

This may be one of Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ least expected features — it’s a video game melting pot. Sure, the island getaway is meant for one human player and a bunch of adorable animals, but that doesn’t mean fans will abide by those rules. But bringing 2B and 9S of Nier Automata into the pastel world of Animal Crossing? Now that’s pushing it.

Of course, they aren’t actually in the game, though their outfits are! Created by fe3hschoolzine on Twitter, the get-ups are as faithful as they can get in the E-rated world of Animal Crossing. Black and sleek is the name of the game here. However, to really complete the look, you’ll need a mirror or vanity to change your villager’s hair to silver. The artist even got 2B’s shirt gap in there just to really, really push that E-rating. If you really want to turn your village into a faithful recreation of Yoko Taro’s strange world, well, it’ll be difficult. There’s only one robot villager you can get in New Horizons: Sprocket, a robot bird. If you’re lucky enough to get them in your town, much like in Nier Automata, what happens to them is up to you.

If you want to cosplay as 2B in Animal Crossing, all you have to do is head to this Twitter post. There you’ll find all the codes, QR or otherwise, to get your fit. In case you’re not sure how to get this all in your game, we’ve got a handy guide on just that. You can check it out here.

Plenty of non-family friendly characters have made use of Tom Nook’s island getaway package. Recently, we’ve seen fans recreate Ellie a-la The Last of Us, as well as the Doom/Animal Crossing memes.
