Neil Druckmann: The Last of Us Part II’s Final Scene Has Officially Been Shot

If you’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of The Last of Us Part II like I have, then know that we are officially one step closer to the game being in our hands. Today, game director Neil Druckmann revealed that Naughty Dog had officially shot the game’s ending.

Druckmann revealed the news via Twitter, implying that, as expected, it was an incredibly hard scene to shoot. Druckmann also shared a picture of the script…although that’s overselling it a bit, as all we can see is a simple “CUT TO BLACK” and “THE END.” Still, I’d rather only have that then any more of the script. If you want to check it out for yourself, you can find the tweet at the end of the article.

Of course, just because the game’s last scene has been shot, that doesn’t mean that motion capture production on the game is over. Typically on both game and film sets, scenes are shot out of order. While this day is definitely a milestone in production, we still probably have a while before we’ll be able to pop it into our PlayStation 4’s (or PlayStation 5’s since the console is backward compatible).

In other news about the game, a few days ago, Druckmann confirmed that Laura Bailey’s work on the game had been completed. A couple of days before that, the developer also revealed that rapper Logic has a role in the post-apocalyptic game.

The Last of Us Part II is set to be available exclusively on PlayStation 4. As of the time of this writing, we have absolutely no idea when the game will arrive.
